With over 50 years' experience as a photographer, I got tired of the inability to give my clients the undivided attention I felt they deserved to give them the very finest portraits possible -- and that requires time.

Years ago I used to do what so many photographers do - four to six sittings an hour -- must hurry along, have someone else coming in. The problem with that is that there isn't time to find the inner person, the real essence that creates a true portrait.

So I made a decision. Scrap the studio. Get rid of the staff. Start over from scratch.

Now a portrait starts with a personal visit during which we discuss you, your thoughts and feelings about why you would like the portrait made, where you plan to display it, with whom you plan to share it. We give you an opportunity to get to know me as a person, and for me to get to know you.

If you have small children, especially two-year olds, these are very special and challenging people. They need to like and trust the photographer. It may take several visits before they are sufficiently relaxed to show the personality that you know them by.

Then, as we have discussed the clothing and the locations for the portrait session, on the day of the session we like to take time -- two to three hours when possible. I only book one portrait session a day. This ensures that nothing will interfere with my total concentration on you and your portrait.

Finished portraits include available enhancements by an award winning artist who can turn your photographic portrait into a virtual oil painting. Mounted on canvas and displayed on your living room or study wall, these portraits become true heirlooms to be treasured for generations to come.
